Biog. Resume:
-As an Artist, much of Thor's work explores public space, focusing on how sound and 'soundtrack's' can change the relationship we have to a place, physical object or medium. His work tends to be experiential and spatially dynamic, often employing multiple sound sources. Many of his projects concentrate on creating site-specific public art works and installations that utilise sound recordings and compositions to re-awaken dysfunctional spaces or structures.
Much of his experience extends into the field of sound design.
Thor is the Creative director of Swarm Sonics (Sonic Arts Company). As a Sound Designer and musical director, Thor has worked quite extensively on live theatrical and spectacular shows, catering for audiences from 50 to 8,000 people, both in Britain and abroad. His company also recently lead the sound design and artistic advisory position for a major new permanent exhibition, Soundspace at Eureka! The museum for Children, in collaboration with renowned exhibition designers Northern Lights Co Design and Kiss the Frog.
Thors recent work includes an periphonic sound installation in one of London’s oldest music Halls, a school anthem for a deaf school and a research project into the sonic potential of pyrotechnics from the UK to Valencia’s Fallas to Japans Hana-bi.
